Tawang Tour Package is the most adventurous experiences in north-eastern state of India. It is predominantly a hilly region located in the Himalayan foothills. It covers an area of 83,743 square kilometers, making it the largest state in northeast India. Itinerary

Arrival in Guwahati | Drive to Dirang (295km, 8hrs)
- After the group assembles at the pickup point in Guwahati (8am in the morning), directly start your drive towards Dirang. This is going to be a long journey but a fun one crossing the beautiful plains of Assam, entering Arunachal. The views are going to be splendid.
- Stop on the way for snacks or breakfast. After a hearty breakfast, restart your journey. Your ILPs are going to get checked in the entry points of the state.
- By afternoon, you will be already past halfway towards Dirang. Stop by and have lunch. Click pictures and reach Dirang by evening. Check-in at your property, have dinner and call it a day.
- You are requested to not waste much time and energy on the first day itself (although we know you will be awestruck by the beauty around), as the following days are going to be magical and you will need your full energy to enjoy.
Please note: If you are arriving on the day of trip start, make sure to book an early morning flight.

Drive from Dirang to Tawang (140km, 6-7hrs)
- On the way, your first stop is Sela pass located at 13,700ft. and is the vital link between West kameng and Tawang districts. Get down from your car and have tea, Maggie in the army canteen, clicking pictures in front of the welcoming gate of Tawang, enjoying the serene beauty of Sela lake.
- Your next stop is the Jaswant Garh war memorial dedicated to the soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat who bravely fought against the Chinese army continuously for 3 consecutive days before being martyred.
- After a good breakfast, start your drive towards Tawang. Although its a journey of about 140km, there will be multiple stop points for sightseeing, hence you will be arriving Tawang in the evening.
- On reaching Tawang, checkin at your property where you will stay. Rest for sometime and then you can walk around the lanes, cafe hopping if you wish to. Have dinner and call it a day.

Visit Bumla pass | Drive back to Tawang
- After an early breakfast, you will drive to Bumla pass, which offers a striking view of Indo-China border and one of the most offbeat high pass motor-able roads of India located at 15,200ft.
- The entire road to Bumla pass you will witness numerous bunkers, artillery practice by army and snowcapped mountains all around. This is also the highest artillery base of India.
- On return, stop at Sangestar lake, also known as Madhuri lake (The film Koyla was shot where SRK and Madhuri dixit enacted). Then visit the PTso lake nestled amidst the eastern Himalayan range. These two high altitude lakes of India offers magnificent view of the landscape.
- Return to Tawang and rest at the hotel for rest of the evening. Have dinner and call it a day.

Tawang local exploration
- After a hearty breakfast, head out Tawang local sightseeing. Pay a visit to Asia's second largest and India's largest monastery- The Tawang monastery. Get mesmerised by the awesome beauty of the architecture and landscape of the monastery.
- Next, visit the Urgelling monastery-one of the oldest Gompa and the birthplace of 6th Dalai Lama. Visit the 600years old iron bridge known as the Chagzam bridge.
- After lunch, visit the giant Buddha statue and then the Tawang war memorial, which is a shrine dedicated to the Indian martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Indo-China War. You'll also watch the Light and Sound show that is organized in the memorial every evening.
- Later, head to hotel and rest for the day.

Drive from Tawang to Dirang (140km, 5hrs)
- After your last breakfast in Tawang, start your return to Dirang.
- En-route, stop by the magnificent Jung waterfall (Nuranang waterfall). You can spend sometime here clicking pictures and exploring nearby areas.
- On reaching Dirang, check-in at your stay property and unwind for the day.

Dirang local sightseeing
- After a wholesome breakfast, head for local sightseeing of Dirang. First, head backwards from Dirang town about 30km to witness the 100 manes or stupas perched at the height of 10,000ft surrounding a giant Buddha statue. From here, you can also see the peaks of Mt. Kangto and Gorichen on a clear day.
- Return back to Dirang and head to Dirang monastery, also known as Thupsung Dhargye monastery. Have lunch and head to Thembang village consisting of about 20 families only living in the remains of a fort in houses built with stones. This is a UNESCO recognised heritage village.
- Head back to your stay and rest for the day.

Drive from Dirang to Guwahati | Drop at Guwahati airport (293km, 8hrs)
- After an early breakfast, it's time to bid goodbye to this amazing journey through eastern Himalayas.
- Head back to Guwahati. You will have lunch on the way. On reaching, you will be dropped at Guwahati airport from where you fly back to your home with a bag full of memories from the land of dawn-lit-mountain.
Please Note: Book a late night flight if you are returning home on the same day the trip ends.
